Lukas Brunnschweiler

Lukas holds a Master in Political Economy and Public International Law with further specialisation in Corporate Social Responsibility and Project Management. He worked as a Consultant assessing design and impact of development projects in Latin-America and he coordinated a Public-Private-Partnership project in the area of Human Rights and Business in Colombia on behalf of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.

Lukas joined StreamTec as a founding Partner after five years in Nord Stream as Project Manager Permitting and as Head of Permitting Team Russia for the Nord Stream Extension Project.

 

As Project Manager Permitting, Lukas was responsible for all permitting issues of Pre-commissioning in five countries. This included planning and managing of environmental impact assessments, setting up a monitoring program and liaising with authorities. As Nord Streams company representative for Cable Crossings, he was heading an interdisciplinary project team responsible for planning, negotiating and managing all cable crossing agreements. As Head of Permitting Team Russia, Lukas and his team implemented a permitting strategy including: national and international consultations, stakeholder engagement, compliance of national permitting process and ESIA documentation with international conventions and standards.

 

At StreamTec, Lukas has been responsible to advise and implement the permitting process of the C-Lion1 data cable in German Waters. Thereafter, Lukas was managing the Permitting Office of Nord Stream 2. He and his team planned and implemented the international consultation process according to the Espoo Convention and ensured project compliance with international standards and regulations.

Most recently, Lukas has been involved as a Permitting Consultant for the connection of offshore windfarm developments. For the OAL Project, Lukas developed the Permitting Strategy and acted as Permitting Advisor throughout project implementation.

 

Lukas’ particular experience is in engaging and building relationships with stakeholders, addressing international regulations and advising and implementing Permitting and Corporate Social Responsibility strategies and solutions for legal, environmental and social issues.
