StreamTec Solutions are participating in the development of the new “Guideline for Offshore Hydrogen Pipeline” DNV JIP (Joint Industry Project) on behalf of Wintershall DEA.   This will be the first document of its kind regulating offshore hydrogen pipelines and the studies will cover both hydrogen/natural gas blends and pure 100% hydrogen.  The JIP will also cover both new build offshore pipelines and repurposing of existing offshore pipelines for Hydrogen transportation.

Currently the only existing code for hydrogen pipelines is ASME B31.12 but it only covers onshore pipelines.  The JIP seeks to create a pipeline code that takes into consideration the more stringent requirements of offshore pipeline transportation.
