Georg Nowack
Georg holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering and has more than thirty years of experience in the industry of new-built energy infrastructure projects in Europe. He started his career at a major German natural gas utility, holding various management positions, one as Project Director for the construction of the Greek natural gas project including LNG terminal, numerous stations and 1000 km trunk lines.
As head of a PMC-team Georg developed, received permits and partly implemented a propene system including jetties, pumping stations, and 500 km pipelines covering Benelux and Germany.
Having moved to offshore systems, he implemented successfully as offshore manager the Dutch-UK natural gas interconnector BBL. At Nord Stream and later again at Nord Stream 2, both as country manager Germany, he was responsible for the shallow water pipelines, landfalls, and onshore facilities. In the period between both Nord Stream projects, TAP appointed Georg as country manager Albania for the construction of 100 km roads and bridges.
In 2019, Georg began consulting an electrical power utility in implementing a high voltage DC onshore cable project; he was also appointed to the supervisory board of a major European gas utility, for which he advises its project teams building natural gas trunk lines and compressor stations.
On the OAL-project between 2022 and 2024, Georg headed a team of 30 STS personnel to manage the ultra-fast-track offshore project including two landfalls. As Project Manager, he was ultimately responsible meeting the project objectives, developing the concept, selecting & leading the contractors and complying to permits.
Georg now manages a similar team of STS experts to plan Gasgrids offshore pipeline infrastructure, namely the BHC and NBHC projects.
Georg is a proficient executive manager of international infrastructure projects. He was and is responsible for major on- & offshore pipeline and terminal projects, achieving bench-mark safety, social, environmental, quality, time, and cost targets.
